Football Coach & Manchester United fan
I became a Manchester United fan at the age of 5. I chose United and have wouldn’t have it any other way!!
My favourite player of all time is David Beckham. He was my absolute idol growing up and I loved everything about him, his crosses, his free kicks, his hairstyles. I wanted Beckham and 7 on the back of every shirt and even named my cat Becks after him.
My favourite memory is my first time going to Old Trafford and seeing Manchester United play. I went with my grandad who is actually a Hull City fan (but definitely now also supports United). Due to a number of different factors I only went to my first game as a 15 year old, and just seeing Old Trafford in the flesh after 10 years of supporting and adoring Man Utd was breathtaking. I finally got to see them play and experience a real game after watching them on TV for so long. I’m a season ticket holder now and do not take for granted how lucky I am to be in this position.
Paul Scholes against Barcelona in the semi final of the Champions League in 2008 is my favourite goal of all time. It seemed like fate that after missing the final in 99 it was Scholes’ goal that got us to the final. The final against Chelsea was too stressful to be my favourite.
