Introducing the Her Game Too Cricket ‘Player of the Month’ Awards, Sponsored by The Oakfield Group

As attention turns to and excitement builds for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales this summer, Her Game Too Cricket are embarking on a new initiative to spotlight and celebrate the grassroots game – introducing our ‘Player of the Month’ Awards, sponsored by The Oakfield Group.

With all eyes on the England team as they prepare for a home World Cup, Her Game Too Cricket are taking a step back to recognise some of the incredible achievements happening on the club pitches across the country by women and girls that may have otherwise

gone uncelebrated – recognising that without the dedication of those at club-level, we would not have the current and future stars representing their country on the world stage.

In collaboration with the Oakfield Group, a bespoke headhunting agency and long-standing supporter of the campaign, Her Game Too Cricket will be awarding a self-identifying female cricket player from club/community cricket each month for their efforts on the field. From match-winning performances, first-ever wickets to spectacular knocks – the awards will celebrate some of the special moments and people within grassroots cricket.

The initiative, launching today, forms part of Her Game Too’s wider approach to support Women and Girls’ cricket and reinforces our commitment to amplify the voices, visibility, and confidence of women in sport.

For these awards, Her Game Too Cricket will publish an online form each month, where people are encouraged to submit their nominations for that month’s award. Once the submission window closes, a panel made up of members of the Her Game Too Cricket and Oakfield Group teams will review the nominations received and vote for their pick – the player who accumulates the most votes will be the winner.

All winners will receive a physical trophy, along with a digital certificate and a spotlight on Her Game Too Cricket and the Oakfield Group’s digital platforms.

Paige Caunce, Head of Her Game Too Cricket, said: “With so much focus on the top-level of the Women’s game this year, we wanted to give something back to the grassroots game.

The Her Game Too Cricket ‘Player of the Month’ Awards is our way to not only recognise the fantastic achievements happening on the field but also share people’s stories and reward them for their dedication to the sport.

On behalf of Her Game Too, I’d like to express our gratitude to our sponsors – the Oakfield Group – for their continued support of the campaign and for helping bring this project come to life!”
