In collaboration with Her Game Too, Longwell Green Sports FC dedicated a weekend of fixtures to celebrating grassroots football and inclusion.
Over two days in February, there was an incredible turnout of players, coaches, and supporters united by a shared love for football.
Her Game Too volunteers were also in attendance and hosted a stall, engaging with people of all ages who were able to learn and understand the message of missions of Her Game Too.
The men's and women’s first team players of the South Gloucestershire-based club wore Her Game Too warm-up t-shirts ahead of their respective matches on both days, thanks to the support of the Gloucestershire Football Association for funding the t-shirts and amplifying Her Game Too’s message of gender equality in sport.

“As a club which has always been a strong supporter of the women's game, it was a privilege for Longwell Green Sports FC to host the first ever grassroots dedicated Her Game Too weekend,” Ken Major, Under-19s coach for Longwell Green Sports FC, explained.
“It was a fantastic weekend, well supported across both days, allowing the club to help promote the opportunity for females to be involved in football as well as the excellent work Her Game Too does for women's sport.”
Her Game Too are incredibly grateful to Longwell Green FC for their continued support in making this event possible and look forward to continuing our work together and taking steps towards a more inclusive future.
This is a sentiment echoed by Ken, who confirmed future plans to support the campaign.
“Prior to the weekend, the club had already confirmed that going forward, all new girls' and women's team kits would have the Her Game Too logo on them, further strengthening our support,” he explained.

“Since the weekend, and all the positive feedback we've received, the club have agreed that this will become an annual event and we'll be meeting in September to start planning the 2026 event, which we hope will be bigger and better.
"And by including our disability and women's walking football teams, we can show that football really is a game for all.”
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported with the Her Game Too x Longwell Green FC Dedicated Fixture Weekend; we hope this is the start of an annual event to celebrate grassroots football and gender inclusivity.
