NOTTS COUNTY BECOME A HER GAME TOO PARTNER CLUB

Writer: Faye HackwellFaye Hackwell

Notts County is the latest club to support female participation in football by becoming a Her Game Too partner.

The Nottingham-based club, which has a men’s side in League Two and a women’s team in the Women’s National League, has underlined its commitment to providing a welcoming environment for female fans, supporting the growth of women’s football and tackling gender discrimination and misogyny in the sport.

By joining Her Game Too, Notts County are the 78th of the 92 Premier League and English Football League clubs to partner with the campaign.

Jo Cottee, Her Game Too Ambassador for Notts County, said: “Notts County’s partnership with Her Game Too sees them join a growing number of football clubs across the country who are working to improve the experience of women in football, be they fans, players or professionals.

“I am a longstanding, proud supporter of Notts County - but it’s more than just a football club; it’s the fabric of my family and my roots in Nottingham and I’m even prouder now that my club are making a stand and showing support and solidarity with their female fans.

“The club has invested in making Meadow Lane an even more inclusive environment for their increasing number of female supporters and this partnership further demonstrates that Notts is a place where even more women and girls know that they are encouraged, supported and safe.

“Notts are in a great position to champion the message of inclusivity within the sport and reach even more fans far and wide with the message that football is a game for all.”

Notts County is kicking off the new partnership at tonight’s League Two fixture against Barrow at Meadow Lane.
