HER GAME TOO CRICKET & HER GAME TOO CYMRU PARTNERS WITH GLAMORGAN CRICKET & CRICKET WALES

Her Game Too Cricket & Her Game Too Cymru are delighted to announce that Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket have pledged their support for the campaign, with the latter becoming the 7th FCC to partner with Her Game Too.

This partnership, which comes at an incredibly exciting time for Women and Girls’ cricket in Wales, marks a pivotal moment for Her Game Too as we begin to spread our message across the cricketing community in the country.

Home to a Division 2 Men’s team and a Tier 2 Women’s side, Glamorgan have played an integral role in growing Welsh cricket – from professional to recreational level. With their Women’s side gaining Tier 1 status in 2027, the county has big ambitions for the future.

The arrival of professional Women’s county cricket in Wales has been described as a “monumental” step for the Welsh game, enabling the next generation of female cricketers to actively pursue a full-time career in the game and wear the iconic daffodil with pride.

Nurtured by a range of programmes from Cricket Wales at recreational level, the Women’s & Girls’ game is going from strength to strength. This growth now means that clubs without a female offer in Wales are in the minority.

At Sophia Gardens, Glamorgan Cricket will proudly host five Women’s fixtures this summer, including two Vitality T20 Blast double-headers with the Men’s side. As the club welcomes more female players, officials and spectators, the county have expressed their commitment to ensuring that their grounds are inclusive spaces for women and girls so that “everyone feels welcome and at home”.

To reinforce their stance that cricket is a game for all, Glamorgan Cricket and Cricket Wales have partnered with Her Game Too Cricket and, by extension, Her Game Too Cymru.

Following the establishment of this partnership, Her Game Too Cricket and Her Game Too Cymru will combine their efforts and resources, working together to ensure that we can deliver a tailored approach to the Welsh game and the cricketing community in the country by launching Her Game Too Criced.

Roopa Vyas, Founder of Her Game Too Cymru, said: “We’re incredibly proud to expand our work into cricket through our partnership with Glamorgan Cricket, the only professional Welsh club, and Cricket Wales.

This is a powerful step forward as we continue championing gender equality in sport - and we’re honoured to now represent both football and cricket fans across Wales.”

On the partnership with Glamorgan Cricket and Cricket Wales, as well as the collaboration with Her Game Too Cymru, Paige Caunce, Head of Her Game Too Cricket, said: “As we continue our work to advocate for a more inclusive future in cricket, we are delighted to announce that the campaign are partnering with Glamorgan Cricket and Cricket Wales.

This is a huge moment for the cricket branch of the campaign as, working alongside the team at Her Game Too Cymru, we begin to take our message into Wales and launch a dedicated approach to our work in the country.

I’d like to express our gratitude to the team at Cricket Wales and Glamorgan cricket for their support and enthusiasm thus far in forming this partnership. We are excited by what the future of this partnership will bring.”

Mark White Head of Participation said: “We at Cricket Wales are excited to partner with Her Game Too, an organisation that promotes hope and equality in sports.

While we’ve seen valuable progress in opportunities for women and girls in cricket, we know there are still challenges to overcome.

Together, we hope to support, encourage, and inspire female participation, working towards a future where girls and women are embraced and respected in the game.

Seeing the positive impact Her Game Too has had across various sports fills us with optimism for this collaboration and the chance to connect with new audiences."
