Following the launch of their new Building Audiences for Women’s Cricket Strategy today, Her Game Too Cricket are pleased to announce that the campaign has partnered with Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
This new partnership comes at an incredibly exciting time for the Women’s professional game, which will be entering its first summer under the new ‘Project Darwin’ restructure, as well as for the county, who have been working hard behind the scenes to grow the Women’s game.
Yorkshire, who have become the sixth First-Class County to partner with Her Game Too, have a long and proud history of Women’s cricket. It is even recorded that the very first Women’s cricket club - the White Heather Cricket Club – was founded at Nun Appleton in 1887.
In more recent years, YCCC have done tremendous work to encourage and inspire more women and girls to get involved in cricket and break down barriers – from their partnership with Fab Little Bag, developing new leagues (both softball and hardball) and their latest White Rose programme, powered by Dynamos.
Off the field, the club has been championing representation across all levels of the game. In 2023, Yorkshire appointed their first female president in Dr. Jane Powell and the following year unveiled a new exhibition to celebrate the history of Women’s cricket in the county. 2024 also saw YCCC retrospectively award caps to female players who have represented the White Rose – spanning almost 90 years of history.

As Her Game Too continues our work to tackle sexism within sports, building relationships and establishing partnerships with clubs across all levels of the game enables us to spread our message that cricket is Her Game Too. It, therefore, brings us great pleasure to begin formally working in partnership with Yorkshire CCC.
Emilia Cooper, Her Game Too Cricket’s Ambassador for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, said: “It’s very exciting that Her Game Too is partnering with Yorkshire CCCC – one of the most iconic and formidable teams in English cricket.

As the largest cricketing county, Yorkshire’s commitment to inclusivity offers something for everyone – whether you’re a female fan who’s never quite felt at home at a men’s game or an experienced player striving to break down boundaries.
This partnership will shine a spotlight on the fantastic work Yorkshire is already doing to grow the women’s game, and I can’t wait to connect with even more fans of this incredible club.”
Gavin Hamilton, YCCC Director of Cricket, said “Partnering with Her Game Too really resonates with what we at the club are all about, making cricket accessible and enjoyable for all. This new era, with both men’s and women’s teams representing the Yorkshire Rose, is the perfect time to partner with Her Game Too.
This partnership shows our continued commitment to enhancing our number of women and girls playing cricket in Yorkshire, as well as coming to support both the Yorkshire Men and Yorkshire Women in their 2025 campaigns.”
